It is our second annual Power Up for PCOS walking event and we are expecting to beat last year's record of just under $3,000 raised. Join us from wherever you live on planet earth. You must register before starting to collect contributions. Register to walk in our 2012 Power Up for PCOS 5K on September 29th, 2012. Click add to cart and go through the checkout process. Then come back to this page and download the Power Up for PCOS 5K Pledge form and start collecting pledges. Detailed instructions are included with the pledge form. First 25 people registered receive a free Power Up for PCOS t-shirt and a goody bag depending on sponsors contributions. T-shirt and goody bags will be mailed out 1-3 weeks prior to event. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine disorder that is thought to affect nearly 20% of all females in the world (1 in 5 women). It is a cluster of complicated symptoms that are not the same for every woman. Women can also have symptoms but may not necessarily have cysts on their ovaries. It is believed to be fundamentally caused by insensitivity to the hormone insulin.
